About us
The ICDS Lab belongs to the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione (Faculty of Engineering) of the University of Pavia. Established in 1992, it has along standing leadership in education, research and innovative solutions in the areas of Simulation, Modelling, Data Analysis and Automation. The permanent staff includes four full professors (Giuseppe De Nicolao, Antonella Ferrara, Lalo Magni, Davide M. Raimondo), an associate professor (Chiara Toffanin), an assistant professor (Michele Cucuzzella) and a Technician (Gianluca De Felici). Their expertise covers the following areas: Automatic Control, Process Control, Industrial Automation, Model Identification and Data Analysis. Application fields include Robotics, Power Plants, Automotive, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Systems Biology, Pharmacological Modelling, Artificial Pancreas. The professors of the staff have been members of the Editorial Boards of the leading control journals (IEEE Trans. on Automatic Control, IEEE Trans. on Control Systems Technology, Automatica) and members of IEEE and IFAC Technical Committees.During the last ten years, ICDS has participated in several European projects funded by EU Research Programmes (PROTECTOR, BIOFIN, HYGEIA, IMPROVE, AP@Home, HYCON2, SEMI40) and by the Italian Research Ministry. The lab carried out also several industrial research projects funded by: Magneti Marelli, Centro Ricerche FIAT, Toyota, Ferrari, Temis, Logic, Foxboro, CESI, STMicroelectronics, Numonyx, Pharmacia, Nerviano Medical Sciences, GlaxoSmithKline, Octotelematics, Fedegari, Stelar, Brambati, LPE, ENI.
